Cumin Powder
Description
It’s practically impossible to imagine curry without cumin. Toasting whole cumin seeds adds a complex texture and flavor not found in regular ground cumin. Its nutty peppery flavor with slight citrus overtones is critical in Mexican, Tex-Mex, Indian and Middle Eastern cuisine. An excellent source of iron, cumin has traditionally been known to be beneficial to the digestive system. Cumin was also believed to strengthen love and fidelity. Cumin was carried in medieval wedding parties, and married soldiers went off to war with cumin bread baked by their wives. Arabic traditions thought that a paste of ground cumin, pepper and honey had aphrodisiac properties. Also try our cumin seeds
