Coriander Seed
Description
Also known as cilantro or Chinese parsley. In the US, the leaves and stalks of the plant are generally referred to as "cilantro," and the seeds “coriander,” and both are available at Alishan. Coriander seeds look like round tiny balls. They become fragrant when dried. The longer they are kept, the more fragrant they become. Crushing the seeds releases its citrusy flavor. Toasting them brings out more of its aroma. Often described as warm, spicy, nutty, orange-flavored. It is an essential ingredient in garam masala and curry. Also try our ground coriander!
