Mix a tablespoon or so of warm water (a portion of whatever the recipe calls for) with yeast and a tablespoon of yeast feeder (maple syrup, honey, malt or sugar work nicely) and set aside someplace cozy (under the kotatsu, for example) fifteen minutes before using. Refrigerate after opening. If you're using in a bread machine with a slow rise time this yeast is fine to use without activating first.
